Granbury, TX, September 30, 2007 – Plane Power, Ltd. releases all new line of alternator conversion kits.
Plane-Power alternator kits allow aircraft owners to remove their old, heavy, poor performing generators and replace them with factory new Plane Power alternators giving them all the benefits of Plane-Power alternators including:
- High output at low engine RPM’s
- Lighter weight
- Higher reliability
Each alternator is precision balanced and feature far tighter component tolerances, and significantly reduced vibration which greatly extends service life. Plane-Power generator to alternator conversion kits reduce aircraft weight by at least seven pounds on single-engine installations and at least fourteen pounds on twin-engine installations. Plane-Power alternators feature proprietary dual cooling fans allowing the Plane-Power units to run at significantly lower temperatures than generators and traditional heavyweight alternators. Plane-Power alternators also feature built-in noise filtration so no additional external noise filter is required.
Steve Klodd, General Manager of Plane Power, Ltd. explained, “Our all new alternator designs are specifically designed for aircraft. Compared to antiquated generators or even traditional aircraft alternators, Plane-Power alternators run cooler, perform far more reliably, and supply increased power at or below typical cruise engine RPM. We are so confident in our alternators and voltage regulators, that Plane Power supports each one with a limited two-year warranty.”
Plane Power, Ltd. generator to alternator conversion kits are STC certified to replace belt driven generators on most single-engine and twin-engine Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft and many other certified aircraft.
Each Plane-Power alternator conversion kit includes a Plane-Power voltage regulator, mounting brackets and hardware required for most installations. Klodd explains, “when Plane Power, Ltd. designs a product, we approach it from the perspective of the customer’s installation experience. All of the needs of that customer and his or her airplane are considered. The Plane-Power voltage regulator is specifically designed with the goal of making the customers installation and ownership experience the best available on the market.” The Plane-Power voltage regulator is all solid-state and features fail-safe over-voltage protection, automatic load sharing (for twin engine aircraft applications), shorted field protection, and cockpit-mounted “alternator inoperative” indicators.
