13,000 square foot addition, along with a significant investment in new testing and inspection equipment, will enable the company to deliver improvements in capabilities, turnaround times, and overall quality.
Tulsa, Okla. (April 13, 2021 – Corrected) — Representatives of Quality Aircraft Accessories (QAA) announced today that the company had begun construction on a 13,000 square foot expansion at its facility located in Tulsa, Okla.
“This expansion will literally double our footprint and facilitate our ability to meet the increasing demand for Hartzell Engine Technologies’ products as one of two domestic distributors for Sky-Tec, Plane-Power, Aeroforce, Fuelcraft, and Janitrol brands,” said Brett Benton, president, Quality Aircraft Accessories. “Furthermore, this investment is a vote of confidence in our people and general aviation as an industry here in Tulsa. Everyone here is extremely excited about what this means for today and our future.”
Benton explained that the project’s completion is targeted for the fourth quarter of this year. Once completed, the state-of-the-art facility will enable QAA to expand its current offering of FAA Part 145 Repair Station component repair, rebuild and overhaul services, as well as improved warehousing and logistics.
“In the 16 months since Quality Aircraft Accessories became a Tailwind Technologies company, we have put a lot of effort into ways to improve the processes and capabilities of what was an already highly capable facility there in Tulsa,” said Keith Bagley, vice president of QAA. “The primary goal of this modernization project is to give the QAA team the additional floor space and the new tools they need to continue to grow and improve their capabilities, support the full lifecycle of general aviation products, and ability to serve the market.”
“One of our primary goals is to be able to shorten our turn-times further, and increase throughput for repairs and overhauls while continuing to refine the quality of our products,” Bagley added. “Quality has always been a keystone of everything we do, and we’re looking to use the updated Tulsa facility as our model for our continual improvement efforts throughout all of the Tailwind companies.”
Along with its capabilities as an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, Quality Aircraft Accessories also serves aircraft owners and maintainers as a distribution channel for the entire family of Hartzell Engine Technologies’ products, as well as HET brands including Sky-Tec starters, Plane-Power alternators, JanitrolAero heaters, AeroForce turbochargers, and Fuelcraft fuel pumps.
